Dream Companion review

A Berlin-run, web-only NSFW companion site with a detailed character creator, an image generator and short video clips paid for with Dream Coins. The free tier is tiny, billed prices are hard to pin down, and its public library shows weak moderation.

Facts checked October 2026

Verdict

Dream Companion is run by a named German company, Miracle AI UG, and gives you more creation tools than many rivals: a tabbed character creator, image batches of up to 32 and video clips of 5 to 15 seconds. Chat quality depends on the plan, and third-party reviews say the Premium model repeats itself and loses details, while the Ultimate model holds up better. Media costs Dream Coins on top of the subscription, the official page shows only per-day sale prices, and the free tier allows about 10 to 20 messages. Its public library and featured cards include high school and step-family framing that sits badly with its own ban on minor-like content, which points to weak moderation.

What's good

  • A named German operator with a full legal imprint and GDPR rights
  • A detailed character creator with style, face, body, personality, scenario and greeting settings
  • Image batches of 2 to 32 and video clips of 5, 10 or 15 seconds
  • Voice messages and voice calls included with Premium
  • A low yearly price: Premium at $69.99 a year in third-party price captures

What's not

  • Weak moderation: a library card sets sexual roleplay in a high school, and featured cards use step-family or 'daughter's friend' framing
  • The official page shows only per-day sale prices, not billed totals
  • Images, video and voice replays cost Dream Coins, and coin pack prices are not public
  • Third-party reviews say the Premium chat model repeats itself and forgets details
  • A tiny free tier of about 10 to 20 messages, and no refunds as a rule

Overview

Dream Companion, branded MyDreamCompanion, is run by Miracle AI UG (haftungsbeschränkt) in Berlin, Germany. The company was first registered in 2021 as an IT services firm and took its current name in June 2024. The site launched in 2024. It is an 18+ chat and roleplay platform that works only in the browser, with no iOS or Android app. An App Store app called Dream AI Companion belongs to a different company. You can chat with companions from a public library of user-made characters, or build your own girlfriend, boyfriend or custom character in Realistic or Anime style. The homepage claims more than 3 million users and over 10,000 companions.

Paid plans add voice messages and calls, an image generator that makes 2 to 32 pictures per batch, and a video generator for 5, 10 or 15 second clips at up to 720p. Media is paid for with Dream Coins, at 3 to 20 coins per use, and Premium includes 100 coins a month. Memory is described only in general terms: companions recall details such as preferences and pet names, Ultimate is reported to add extended memory, and no context length or memory editor is published. The site also promotes 'Dream Cams' live-style pages and a video-chat match feature without stating their cost. Similarweb estimates 1.8 million visits in the three months to September 2026, with Japan (29%) and the US (26%) as the largest markets.

Pricing

The official subscription page lists only per-day prices. In October 2026 it showed Premium at $0.19 a day and Ultimate at $0.82 a day under a '70% off' sale banner, with no billed totals. Third-party reviews from March and August 2026 list Premium at $11.99 a month or $69.99 a year, and Ultimate at $44.99 a month or $299.88 a year.

PlanMonthlyYearly planWhat you get
Free Free — One custom character, about 10 to 20 messages, and extra credits for completing tasks
Premium $11.99/mo $69.99/yr Unlimited messages on the official page (a March 2026 review lists a 6,000-message monthly cap), 100 Dream Coins a month, images, video, voice messages and calls
Ultimate $44.99/mo $299.88/yr Unlimited messages, 800 coins a month, and reportedly advanced chat models, extended memory, a priority queue and longer videos

Dream Coins pay for media, at 3 to 20 coins per use under the terms. One March 2026 review cites about 5 coins per image, 20 per video and 2.8 per voice-message replay. Coin pack prices are not public. Subscriptions are generally not refunded, except for platform errors reviewed case by case or where local law requires it, and cancelling takes effect at the next billing cycle. StartupHub notes that the advertised 70% yearly discount does not match its own price figures.

Privacy & safety

A named Berlin company, GDPR rights and no known breaches are in its favour, but the privacy policy contradicts the homepage on training, sets no retention periods and allows many ad trackers.

  • CautionThe October 2026 privacy policy says chats may be used, anonymised or aggregated, to improve AI models, while the homepage says chats are not currently used to train its own models. The two statements conflict.
  • CautionThe policy sets no fixed retention periods, does not say where data is stored and names no data protection officer. It lists trackers from Meta, Google, TikTok, Snapchat, Reddit and Hotjar, plus the adult ad networks JuicyAds and TrafficJunky.
  • CautionMost users only click to confirm they are 18+. ID and face checks through Didit apply to selected users only.
  • NoteThe operator, Miracle AI UG in Berlin, is named with a full imprint, the policy lists GDPR rights, and accounts can be deleted in settings. No breaches, lawsuits or regulator actions found as of October 2026.

What users say

There is little independent feedback. Trustpilot shows 2.8 from just 4 reviews (April to May 2026), with complaints about bugs, looping chats, images that ignore prompts, high cost and credits that do not refill. StartupHub found almost no organic Reddit discussion, and many favourable reviews come from affiliate sites. A different product at dreamcompanion.io and an unrelated App Store app share the name, so check which service a review covers.

Dream Companion FAQ

Is Dream Companion free?

Yes. The terms say free users can create one character and send a limited number of messages, typically 10 to 20, and can earn extra credits by completing tasks. Image and video tools carry Premium badges, and voice messages and calls are listed as Premium benefits.

How much does Dream Companion cost?

The official subscription page lists only per-day prices. In October 2026 it showed Premium at $0.19 a day and Ultimate at $0.82 a day under a '70% off' sale banner, with no billed totals. Third-party reviews from March and August 2026 list Premium at $11.99 a month or $69.99 a year, and Ultimate at $44.99 a month or $299.88 a year.

Does Dream Companion allow adult content?

Yes. Dream Companion is an 18+ platform that allows NSFW chat, images and video. Entry needs a click-through 18+ confirmation, and the October 2026 privacy policy says selected users may have to verify with an ID and face scan through Didit. The December 2024 content rules ban depictions that resemble minors, bloodline incest, bestiality, impersonation and hate speech, while step-family scenarios are allowed. Moderation is an automated filter with possible manual review, and it looks weak in practice: the public library includes a user-made sexual roleplay character set in a high school (described as 18), and some operator-featured cards use step-family or 'daughter's friend' framing without stating an age.

Is Dream Companion safe and private?

A named Berlin company, GDPR rights and no known breaches are in its favour, but the privacy policy contradicts the homepage on training, sets no retention periods and allows many ad trackers.
