DarLink AI is run by FameLink SA, a Swiss company entered in the commercial register in the canton of Jura in February 2024. The darlink.ai domain was registered in November 2023, and the service has been public since 2024. It works in the browser only: no App Store or Google Play app could be found as of October 2026. You can build a companion by choosing appearance, personality, voice, ethnicity, traits, occupation and interests. There are five styles: Realistic, Anime, Furry, Fantasy and Cartoon. Beyond about 18 pre-made characters, most companions are user-made and appear in a public feed under their creators' names. Third-party counts put the feed at about 334,000 realistic, 44,000 anime and 7,000 furry companions.
Images and videos are paid for in tokens: 2 per image and 20 per video on every plan, and failed generations still use up tokens. Videos are usually 5 to 10 seconds long.
